WELCOME TO REALITY CARES

“More Indian children are in school than ever before, but the quality of public schools has sunk to spectacularly low levels, as government schools have become reserves of children at the very bottom of India′s social ladder.”

Welcome to the home of Reality Cares, a non-profit organisation focused on education of children and young adults in India.

Reality Cares launched in July 2009 when it opened its first junior Kindergarten in India's biggest slum, in Dharavi, Mumbai. Ms Therese Rein, the wife of the Australian Prime Minister visited the kindergarten in November 2009.

The organisation aims to expand its operations in Mumbai to offer further pre-school classes to local children.

We also work with similarly disadvantaged teens and young adults in the area by providing different types of training to aid them in finding their self-confidence and then employment.

In our Community Centre we provide soft skills, English and computer classes.

We believe in every child's right to quality education that enables them to pursue a career and lifestyle of their choice. Reality Cares strives to address to failings of the mainstream education system by providing a low-cost, high quality educational path to the youth of Dharavi.

Reality Cares is not affiliated with any religion or political group. It is primarily funded by Reality Tours and Travel, an ethical private limited company operating in India.
