Cricket- Project Front Foot

We are collaborating with a group of cricketers from Lincolnshire, UK, who want to transport unwanted cricket equipment from their clubs to Dharavi, so that the children and young adults in the area can benefit. Anybody who has been to India will know that its people are crazy about cricket!

Leading the project is Vic Mills, from Lindum Cricket Club. In 2009 they collected lots of cricket equipment including bats, stumps, pads, bags, shoes and other clothing, and more than 1,400 tennis balls!!

Vic came out to Mumbai in November 2009 with the kit and he stayed for a month coaching some kids from Dharavi at a local sports ground- Indian Gymkhana- who very kindly allowed us to use their facilities 3 times per week.

We have now taken on the coaching until Vic next comes out

For further details, see their website www.projectfrontfoot.co.uk.

If you have any cricket equipment to donate or if you are interested in helping with the coaching, please contact us.
